Every July, a wild troupe of magicians, storytellers, traders and vagrants bring to life the times of preachers selling indulgences, of minstrels and the Black Death, and of wanton high spirits. Hawkers, peddlers and craftsmen dominate the medieval market with their wares. For three days, the Middle Ages return to Bielefeld.

Bielefeld’s Christmas Market is always a favourite destination. It attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to the town every year. More than 100 festively decorated half-timbered stalls add magic to Bielefeld’s city centre in the weeks before Christmas.
